About Jenner & Block LLP
Jenner & Block LLP - Our passion for public service has a storied history that dates back to the 1950s, when Partners Thomas P. Sullivan, Prentice H. Marshall, and Jerold S. Solovy launched one of the first formal pro bono programs. At the time, they recruited dozens of other Jenner & Block lawyers to help them represent indigent criminal defendants in Chicago. Partners Albert E. Jenner, Jr. and Samuel W. Block upheld and cultivated this core value as leaders of the firm that would eventually bear their names.
Since then, Jenner & Block has set the standard in pro bono. We were early champions for sometimes-controversial issues like prisoners' rights and criminal defense, and we continue forging the path, year after year, to help marginalized communities. Investing our time and talent to help others is a defining characteristic of the firm—a true calling.
